Peloton Gives Yin Yoga & Yoga Conditioning its Own Class Type Filter in the On-Demand Library

Peloton has made an update to the filtering options within the yoga modality, giving both Yin Yoga & Yoga Conditioning its own specific filter so that members can more easily find the classes.

The new filters (for both Yin Yoga and Yoga Conditioning) can be found in the “class type” filters within Peloton’s yoga library. Applying the filter will allow you to view solely either Yin Yoga classes, or Yoga Conditioning. Previously, Yin Yoga was housed within the “restorative” filter and did not have its own category.

Note that all Yin Yoga classes are also placed in the dedicated Peloton collection, so you can also easily find Yin Yoga content that way as well.

There is also a dedicated Peloton yoga conditioning filter as well.

Yin Yoga first launched on the Peloton platform in February 2023. At first Aditi Shah and Denis Morton instructed the format, but over the summer Peloton added additional instructors in Kirra Michel, Chelsea Jackson Roberts, and Nico Sarani – also offering Yin Yoga in German for the first time.

Yin Yoga is a slower-paced style of yoga that involves holding postures for longer periods of time – perhaps 3-5 minutes or even longer. Many of the poses focus on the connective tissues and joints of the body. Note that this is different from restorative yoga, which focuses on relaxing and healing – Yin Yoga focuses on stretching and applying gentle stress to certain parts of the body.

Peloton has given numerous categories their own filters in recent months, separating “warm up” and “cool down” into two distinct filters, and parsing out sleep and relaxation into separate meditation filters.
