Weekly Class Purge: Peloton Removes Classes Filmed Between October 26-November 13, 2019 on July 14, 2023

Another Friday, another round of Peloton class removals – though this week’s maintenance took place earlier in the day than the previous few weeks. Typically the purges have been observed around 5:00 p.m. ET, but today they happened at approximately 9:00 a.m. ET.

Classes filmed between October 26 through November 13, 2019 were removed from Peloton’s on demand library on July 14, which amounts to just under three weeks’ worth of content.

Update – An earlier version of this article said the purge was through November 14th. However, the purge ended with classes recorded on November 13th. Classes from Nov 14th & forward are expected to be purged starting July 2st.

Interestingly, one class that had been removed in last week’s removal was restored this week: a 20 minute Sleep Meditation with Anna Greenberg. However, the two classes that were missed last week – a Power Yoga and a Restorative Yoga with Ross Rayburn – are now gone.

In addition, Peloton appears to be slightly expanding the criteria for which classes are preserved – at least in this week’s maintenance. A number of Power Zone rides were saved & remain in the library, as well as some outdoor runs and prenatal/postnatal classes. Pelo Buddy has a complete list of both prenatal Peloton classes and postnatal Peloton classes on our site for those interested.

Sundays with Love Rides and Jess King Experience Rides have also continued to be saved, along with artist series and the class types described above. This week the big artist series that was saved was the P!nk (Pink) Peloton classes. You can find the complete list of classes that were spared from the latest round of class library maintenance below:

As a refresher, class library maintenance is Peloton’s removal of older classes from the on demand library that are now taking place regularly on Fridays, as announced in April of 2023. Purges have occurred on April 28, May 5, May 12, May 19, May 26, June 2, June 9, June 16, June 23, June 30, and July 7.

You can find more information regarding the process and rationale behind class library maintenance via our article from the time of the announcement.

Are you happy to see the list of preserved classes growing each week as of late?

We were blessed to have Christian Vande Velde’s pro-cyclist classes on Peloton. When else would we get to be coached by a Tour de France rider. And yet with the purge, only 5 of his classes are left. I wish that Peloton would bring them back. They are great rides. We’ve been so lucky to have them.

Sad to see some of the Halloween classes purged like Jess King’s Rocky Horror show ride and a Kendall Halloween ride with tracks from horror movies. I had hoped as they were themed they might have kept those.

All of Christine D’Ercole’s 60 min climb rides relate to Mount Haleakala including 2019 should be restored. They’re so unique and challenging they should be left alone.

Literally all the prenatal content is gone now. WTF??? Is there a plan in the works to get more added? This really sucks for people who are pregnant and trying to be careful with working out safely.

This is horrible. I’m going to cancel my peloton membership and selling the bike if this continues. I had all of my favorite rides bookmarked and regularly came back to them. Hate not having reliable content that I’m familiar with.

I hope peloton gets acquired by a larger company like apple or Amazon that can handle the cost of production and responsibilities to the customer base. Unbelievable that they so obviously violated copyright laws to begin with. Also, what ever happened to the recall on bike seats? I ordered mine 2 months ago and still haven’t received anything. Are they going to get another lawsuit for failing to address the recall properly?

Time to give up peloton. “Rebranding” isn’t going to work. Quit while you’re behind
