Target Metrics for Peloton Lanebreak on Bike & Tread

Peloton has added target metrics to the Peloton Lanebreak video game on both the Bike and the Tread. This allows members to preview the class structure, which will be particularly helpful in identifying which difficulty level to select. Peloton sent a pop-up alert to devices within Lanebreak to notify members of the new feature.

There is a new “target metrics” tab on both Bike and Tread devices. Members can toggle between the different difficulty levels to see the differences between each level – light, moderate, hard, challenging, and extreme. Earlier this year Peloton added the “light” level and renamed other levels.

The target metrics feature also provides both an estimated speed and incline range for each level. For example, a light Lanebreak level on the Tread may display an estimated speed range of up to 6 mph, and an estimated incline range of 0-3.5%. Underneath these ranges is also an average for the entire level.

In addition to the speed and incline ranges, there is also an estimated output for each level as another way to measure how intense the course will be. Below these metrics are graphs for the entire level.

Note that these target metrics do not show up if viewing the Lanebreak level in the general on-demand library – a feature that was added earlier this year. Members must be in the actual Lanebreak module on their Bike or Tread devices to have this functionality.

Lanebreak was first released to the Peloton Bike in 2022, and was added to the Tread in 2023.

If you enjoy Peloton’s Lanebreak classes, will the new target metric previews be helpful to you when selecting your levels and difficulty?
