Last week, Equinox group, which owns boutique fitness studio Soul Cycle, Precision Run, and Equinox gyms, announced that they were teaming up to release an at-home fitness solution that would be a direct competitor to Peloton.
Slated to launch this fall, the offerings would include at-home versions SoulCycle bike and Equinox’s Woodway Treadmill, as well as access to yoga and personal training classes taught by top Equinox instructors.
In an interview with Fast Company, CEO of Equinox Media Jason La Rose stated that the main differentiator between this new service and Peloton is that the workouts are intended to supplement in-person workouts at an Equinox studio.
Our members like to be in a physical space, they love to be in our clubs. Digital becomes an ‘and’ answer for them and not an ‘or’ answer. . . . It’s really the intersection of digital and physical that makes this a very different concept to begin with.
Equinox has not announced a name for the new service or a subscription price.
