Peloton and United Healthcare’s partnership is growing.
Peloton and United Healthcare announced today via a press release an expanded partnership that “more than doubles the number of people who may become eligible for a 12-month subscription to a Peloton App Membership, or a three-month waiver toward a Peloton All-Access Membership, at no additional cost as part of their UnitedHealthcare health benefits”.
The Peloton membership offer has been included in employer-sponsored plans since 2021, but this evolution of the offer has opened up the ability for smaller organizations with 3,000 employees or less, and self-funded plan holders to also benefit from the partnership.
Prior to today’s expansion, the following stat was provided about usage of the benefit:
Since originally launching the offer in 2021, UnitedHealthcare members are collectively completing over 1 million Peloton classes per month; among enrollees who have taken at least one class during a given month, members are taking an average of over three classes each week.
Due to this expansion, roughly 10 million United Healthcare members are eligible for either a free year-long Peloton app subscription or three months of free All-Access Membership. Additionally, in some states, eligible members are also able to buy Peloton hardware at “preferred price” rates.
Eligible members should receive an email from United Healthcare alerting them to the new benefit, however, members can also click here to check eligibility or log into myuhc.com.
Peloton’s United Healthcare Partnership Support page is also an excellent resource to answer any questions members may have.
We first reported on the Peloton & United Healthcare partnership in July of 2021.
