New Seated Adaptive Transfer Strength Training Program from Peloton with Logan Aldridge & Tom Miazga

Peloton has launched a brand new one week strength program, titled “Seated Adaptive Transfer Program”. This adaptive program is led by Logan Aldridge. As always, you can find a complete list of classes in the program, and more details about this program in our article below.

Logan described the new program as “teaching the floor-to-chair transfer focuses on developing the strength, mobility, coordination and technique to safely transfer and the workouts necessary to help get you there – all in a 7 day program!”

In class, they describe the three different types of seated athletes who the program is for. This includes:

  • Spinal Cord Injury Complete (SCI Complete) – Complete Paralysis of Lower Extremities
  • Spinal Cord Injury Incomplete (SCI Incomplete) – Paralysis of Lower Extremities, but Possibly Some Core Functions & Stability
  • Seated Athlete With Hip Function – Lives in Seated Position, But Can Utilize Native Anatomy in Hinging Movement Patterns

In a first for Peloton, the program also features Tom Miazga – the first time someone who isn’t a full time instructor has been featured in a Peloton training program (in the past, Peloton has had guest instructors – you can still find a handful of cycling classes from guest instructor Christian Vande Velde on the platform). In addition – Kirra Michel joins Logan as well to lead a breathing meditation class as part of the program too. In another unique part of this program, one of the main classes (the 20 minute Seated Adaptive: How To Transfer class) is available in the main part of the on-demand library – while the rest of the classes are still locked behind the program.

Not familiar with Tom? Tom Miazga competed in the 2008 Paralympic Games as a swimmer – and later started competing in CrossFit, where he is now the 6X “Fittest Seated on Earth”. Logan also competed in Crossfit before coming to Peloton, where he earned the title “Fittest One-Armed Man on Earth”

In the intro to the program, Tom & Logan mention how everything is connected through the classes, all designed arond how to transfer in & out of a wheelchair. It includes a full transfer workout class, a meditation, and classes to get your stronger along the way. He notes that there will be lots of movements & variations, with many equipment options as well – and some classes will be using dumbbells. Tom went on to note that the goal of the program is to truly increase the quality of life & independence for all seated athletes.

This is Logan Aldridge’s third adaptive strength training program on Peloton – you can also find his Standing Adaptive Strength Program as well as his Seated Adaptive Strength Training Program – both of which were released last year.

Peloton teased this program was on the way yesterday, when they announced it would drop today.

Below you will find full details about the program, the list of classes included, how to earn the badges, and more. As always, you can find full details and class lists about any Peloton program on our site here.
