Peloton has announced a new partnership with the YMCA in Chicago, Illinois. The news was shared via press release:
Peloton and the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago today announced the launch of a strategic partnership aimed at advancing community health and wellbeing, increasing member and community access to best-in-class fitness programming, and closing racial health and opportunity gaps across communities.
As part of the partnership, select YMCA locations throughout the Chicago metropolitan area will house Peloton equipment and provide access to Peloton content. YMCA members will be able to access free workouts on the Peloton App at the Lake View YMCA. In addition, four YMCA locations – Fry Family, McCormick, Sage, and South Side – will have a total of 12 Peloton Bikes available for use. These locations were reportedly chosen as pilot locations, which suggests the partnership could expand if successful.
A Peloton spokesperson provided the following quote about the partnership:
“We are thrilled to partner with the YMCA of Metro Chicago to help continue our efforts of increasing accessibility to fitness and meeting you at every stage of your fitness journey,” said Greg Hybl, Senior Vice President & General Manager of Commercial and Corporate Wellness at Peloton. “Peloton and the YMCA share a mission to help people live their healthiest and happiest lives, building active, supportive communities that empower and bring out the best in our members through efficient, impactful, entertaining and community driven workout experiences that meet their needs.”
As a reminder, Chicago is one of the upcoming stops of Peloton On Tour, Peloton’s replacement for their annual Homecoming event that was announced earlier this summer. Peloton on Tour Chicago will take place from October 5-7, 2023.
