Bug with metrics on original Peloton Bike.

Peloton creates bug for no metrics on some original Peloton Bikes (“platform detect errors” on v1 Bike)

Some owners of original Peloton bikes are having issues related to their metrics, and Peloton has created an official bug & status message for this issue.

For those impacted, the issue is that even though all their cables are connected and plugged in, the Bike is not tracking, recording, or showing their metrics like cadence, speed, or distance onscreen. Instead, all their metrics are staying at 0, even though they are connected.

The first step to try to fix this, according to Peloton, is to ensure that all the cables are securely plugged in, as well as trying to perform a factory reset.

However, this still doesn’t appear to fix the issue for some members – and Peloton is recommending those people contact customer support to “schedule a field repair.”

Peloton does state that they do have a fix identified for this issue.

The full bug report from Peloton says:

Bug with metrics on original Peloton Bike.
Bug with metrics on original Peloton Bike.

We are currently investigating limited reports of platform detect errors and 0 metrics on the Peloton Bike. The team has identified a fix. If you are encountering this issue, and it is not resolved with a factory reset or after securing your cables, please contact member support to schedule a field repair.

Note that the issue seems to only be impacting those with the original Peloton Bike, or v1 Peloton Bike.

We will update this report as more information becomes available from Peloton.
