Peloton Studios migrating to new booking system that will no longer require pre-purchasing credits for in-person class bookings

Peloton is migrating their in-person class booking system to a new reservation system, called TeamUp. The studio booking website will be unavailable from Dec 11-13 during this migration.

The big change for members at this point is that studio credits will no longer need to be pre-purchased before trying to book an in-person class. This is rolling out for studio bookings at both Peloton Studios New York, and Peloton Studios London.

Historically, in-studio class spots are booked so quickly that it was effectively impossible to get a class when they first opened if you didn’t have a class credit pre-purchased. With this change, it sounds like this will no longer be necessary.

The email says:

New Booking Process: Effective Wednesday, December 13, 2023, we are transitioning to a pay-as-you-go class purchase model. To streamline the booking experience, you will no longer need to purchase a studio class credit before booking a spot in class.

You should still likely expect to pay for the class when you are booking it 6 weeks out (or whenever you are booking). The difference is – now you can be sure you have a spot in a class confirmed before you need to pay for the class – whereas before, you had to book a credit just in hopes of trying to get a spot. We will have more confirmation on this next week once the new system is live.

This migration will start on Monday, Dec 11th, and take until Wednesday, December 13th. During this time, the studio booking website might be inaccessible.

Under this timeline, the next round of studio bookings, which take place on Thursday, December 14th, will be taking place under the new reservation system with this new model.

Once the migration is complete, members will need fill out a few pieces of extra information the next time they log back into the booking website.

For those who have studio credits they haven’t used – those will automatically be migrated to the new system:

Your account details, including classes booked and class credits purchased before December 11, 2023, will be automatically transferred as part of this migration and accessible with your existing Peloton membership credentials. Transferred credits will be available under “Groups and Credits,” and bookings will be found under “Registrations” in “Account Details.”

You can read the full email sent to members below. If there are any other impact to members once the new system is live, we will be sure to share that information once it is available.

As a reminder, we have a full guide & overview of studio bookings, which we will be updating with this latest information once it is live.

If it prevents the system from crashing out every Thursday at noon, it will be an improvement. Will reserve further judgment until I attempt to book a class on the new platform!
