Peloton Announces Official Partnership with YouTube TV on Peloton Entertainment

Peloton has officially partnered with YouTube TV, giving the platform a more prominent display within Peloton Entertainment. Peloton shared the news via press release:

Peloton has announced YouTube TV as an official Entertainment Hub partner providing All-Access Members the ability to stream their favorite movies, TV shows, and live sports, right from their Peloton Bike(+), Tread(+), or Row. Members are invited to continue to make the most of their “me time” through this new partnership by combining fitness with entertainment, while still making strides towards their goals.

As a reminder, Peloton Entertainment is Peloton’s new feature that allows members to access streaming content from their hardware device, such as the Bike, Tread, or Row (note that Peloton Entertainment is not available on the digital app or web browser). It began its closed beta phase – meaning not all members had access to it – at the end of June, and fully debuted alongside the launch of NBA League Pass in November. Then in December, all of the available apps – Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, and more – were moved out of the beta phase, including YouTube TV.

However, with this official partnership announcement, YouTube TV has its logo on the home screen, and is at the very front of the app list along with NBA League Pass. All of the other apps are in alphabetical order. With this partnership YouTube TV will also presumably have more public marketing efforts behind it.

Peloton’s Senior Vice President of Music and Content Partnerships Gwen Bethel Riley provided the below quote about the partnership with YouTube TV:

“Our partnership with YouTube TV is a continuation of our commitment to fitness anytime, anywhere. We are empowering our Members to lean into what they love, like catching up on their favorite show or rooting for their home team, to help inspire them on their fitness journey.”

Note that like the other options within Peloton Entertainment, members must have their own subscription for each streaming service in order to be able to utilize the feature.
