Peloton Tread+ deliveries will start “in the next two weeks”, but some won’t ship until April 2024

Peloton has finally provided an update on when Peloton Tread+ deliveries will start.

Today, an email was sent out to members who were waiting for their pre-orders. It stated that Peloton Tread+ deliveries would “begin” shipping in the next two weeks. In other words, this means deliveries of the Peloton Tread+ will start by February 7th, 2024.

Update – Peloton has sent a second delivery update as well.

We have received reports already from some members who have received their delivery emails, and are expecting deliveries before this date (one member reported a delivery date on January 29th, 2024).

However, it goes on to state that Peloton “expect to fill all existing preorders by the end of April”. This means that while some members should have them in their homes in the next two weeks, others who pre-ordered the Peloton Tread+ will have to wait another 3 months for delivery.

Peloton notes that the decision for who gets scheduled for delivery first will be based on two factors:

  • Pre-Order Date
  • Available Inventory in Area

This means that someone who pre-ordered the Tread+ later than you, but lives in a different part of the country, might actually receive their Tread+ before someone who pre-ordered earlier.

The email also shares that Peloton will be emailing members on a rolling basis when it is closer to their time to schedule deliveries. With this email today, they are likely hoping to limit the number of people who reach out saying “I hear my friend got an email to schedule delivery, can I schedule my delivery now?”

Pre-orders of the Peloton Tread+ started on December 6th. They were offering a $1,000 pre-order discount, however, that expired on January 9th. That means it is currently available to purchase for $5,995.

When pre-orders of the Tread+ first opened, members were told that shipments would start in “January 2024”. However, since then, that language was updated and it now states shipments will be starting in “early 2024”.

As a reminder, Peloton has said that the first 10,000 or so units will be filled by “existing inventory” – in other words, Peloton Tread+ that were not sold prior to the recall and being removed from market. These are not used, or refurbished – they were just manufactured previously.

Once those first 10,000 are sold, Peloton has said they will figure out how to spin up new manfuacturing lines for them – and there will be a pause in deliveries while they do that.

The new Tread+ being shipped out are the same exact devices as those that were previously sold – with the exception of the new Peloton Tread+ rear safety guard that will be installed on each of them.

For people who already own the Tread+, Peloton has started reaching out to members to schedule installs of the rear safety guard for them.

There is currently no trade in program for those who might want to trade in a Peloton Tread for Peloton Tread+.

    Placed order on December 26 and live in Chicago, order status shows as “Need To Schedule”, delivery shows as “On Hold, Peloton will contact you when your order is ready for delivery.” I’m curious if anyone else ordering around that time is seeing anything different?

    Finally heard from Peloton about scheduling my delivery, although earliest available was March 22. Oh well, good things come to those who wait..
