It’s time for Peloton instructor and Dancing with the Stars contestant Cody Rigsby and his dance partner, Cheryl Burke to head back to the ballroom!
Cheryl shared the news in a message to fans on Instagram last night:
I have been officially cleared. I am back to normal…Unfortunately, Cody is still in quarantine, but he will be back in Los Angeles starting Friday—which means we can technically dance on both Monday and Tuesday.
According to D23, Week 4 is Disney Week, and couples will be performing numbers inspired by their favorite Disney heroes and villains. On Monday evening, Cody and Cheryl are slated to perform the Jive to “Stand Out” from “A Goofy Movie” – a movie that Cody has referenced in his classes. On Tuesday night, they’ll flip the script and channel their inner villains, dancing the Viennese Waltz to “Gaston” from Beauty and the Beast.
The dancing duo was sidelined earlier in the DWTS season after announcing that Cheryl, and soon thereafter Cody, had both tested positive for COVID-19. The pair has been making it work in the meantime, rehearsing their dances via Zoom.
They are no strangers to working remotely. In a history-making first on DWTS, Cody and Cheryl were able to dance “together” from their respective living rooms in Week 3 of the competition, thanks to the magic of technology.
Their virtual performance earned them a score of 18 out of 30, the lowest score given out that night. On her podcast, Pretty Messed Up, Cheryl shared her disappointment that the judges hadn’t awarded them any “extra credit” for the work it took to pull off the remote dance.
After last week’s struggles, Cody needs the Peloton community to rock the vote now more than ever! If you haven’t already, check out our guide with instructions on how to automate your text votes for Cody.
