Last night, Cody Rigsby shared that he had contracted COVID-19 – and his dancing partner Cheryl Burke made the same announcement Sunday. When making his announcement, Cody shared that he and the Dancing With The Stars team were trying to figure out if he would be able to continue in the competition.
Just hours later, this morning “Good Morning America” broke the news that Cheryl and Cody would be able to continue competing in Dancing With The Stars. This is Week 3 of Dancing With The Stars, and all the performers will be dancing to Britney Spears songs – who is one of Cody Rigsby’s favorite musicians.

In a unique solution, Cody and Cheryl will each be dancing by themselves, in their own homes. They will be doing a jazz performance, which allows for this virtual dance to work.
Entertainment Weekly also shared the news in an article.
“[Cody] will be allowed to dance a solo jazz number virtually from New York. Meanwhile, Burke, who tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, will perform “with him” from Los Angeles. Both have been fully vaccinated and say they are experiencing mild symptoms.
Jazz dancing can be performed separately since there are no movements that require clasped hands. So it’s a perfect way, under the circumstances, for the duo to stay in the competition.
This means that Monday night Cody will need your votes! If you haven’t already, be sure to check out our guide on how to automate your text votes for Cody!
