The Peloton Guide strength device.

The Peloton Guide is only $45 on Amazon (50% off discount & sale)

The Peloton Guide is available on discount at Amazon this week.

You can get the Peloton Guide for only $45 on Amazon currently (affiliate link) – more than 50% off the regular $95 price.

The Peloton Guide is a device that you connect to a TV via HDMI cable, allowing you to take Peloton classes on the big screen. It supports features like rep counting & form feedback during strength classes (but you can take any class type on the Guide, not just strength), as well as a user interface that shows you what the next upcoming movements in a workout are.

The Peloton Guide is not currently discounted on the Peloton website itself – this promotion is only through Amazon at this time.

While the timing of this sale is likely a coincidence (especially since it is only on Amazon, and not Peloton), Peloton has recently shared that they will be removing access to programs from most TV apps at the end of this week (note that this only impacts browsing programs, you’ll still be able to take regular classes from the TV apps). Since the Peloton Guide is considered a Peloton hardware device, it is currently expected that programs will remain available through the Guide, though Peloton has yet to explicitly clarify this. An alert shown in the Peloton Guide about the upcoming program changes appears to indicate the Guide will still have access to programs after the update – saying “Once the updates [are] all set you’ll be able to pick up right where you left off and complete your program.”

For members who take programs on the TV, and don’t want to do a workaround like casting from their phone app, or stacking program classes from their app and then just taking those program classes from their stack via their TV app, the Guide might be an alternative to continue to have easier access to programs.

If you already own another piece of Peloton hardware, the Guide is included in that membership. However, if you don’t already own other hardware, you are required to get the Guide membership, which is $24/month (but allows 5 users on that account). This is the same price as the App+ membership, but a price increase over the App One membership.

It is not known how long this sale on the Guide will last for. Previous sales of the Guide on Amazon have lasted ~1-2 weeks, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything for this sale.

We see the Guide discounted to this $45-$50 price every couple of months – including this past Black Friday. Amazon previously had this discounted price in both early May & late March as well.

The Peloton Guide has slowly seen its price dropped over the years. It first launched in 2022 for a price of $295. It was then lowered to $195 in 2023. Then, last summer it was dropped to the now-current price of $95.

Last year, Peloton wrote off $9.1 million of Guide inventory for accounting purposes.
