It appears Peloton may finally be adding a long-requested integration with Garmin.
Update – The Peloton x Garmin integration started rolling out in September 2025.
Peloton CEO Peter Stern revealed this bit of information last week while speaking at the Bloomberg Tech conference in San Francisco.
Stern was asked specifically about data collection at Peloton – and how extra information would allow Peloton to use AI to optimize people’s workouts and recommendations. The interviewer went on to ask whether Peloton needed a wearable, or a new heart rate strap, or new sensors on the Tread or Bikes for any of this.
Stern’s response implied that Peloton didn’t necessarily need their own device due to partnerships they have, including one with Google Fitbit.
He then went on to talk about a Garmin integration, saying:
“We have done an integration with Garmin smartwatches because a lot of top athletes choose that. And we also are working with Apple Health app to make sure we can import data from there.”
Stern specifically mentioned an integration here, and in the broader context of importing data from external ecosystems.
While Peloton does allow members to use select Garmin watches as heart rate monitors, the context of this conversation implied this would be a bigger integration with Garmin – similar to how Peloton integrated with Apple Health for syncing & sharing data between those platforms.
What isn’t known yet is how in-depth this integration between Peloton & Garmin Connect would be. This could, in theory, allow members to have their workouts they completed on Peloton devices show up on the Garmin Connect platform without any third party apps or workarounds as has been required in the past.

It would also allow Peloton to read workout & other data from the Garmin Connect ecosystem, having a more complete view of what workouts their members are doing with their Garmin watches & bike computers – allowing Peloton to better tailor recommended workouts and preferences based on those external workouts.
The Peloton x Garmin Connect integration has not officially launched yet, but we will be sure to share more information if & when it does.

This would be so exciting! It’s not the same with all the workarounds or sync apps – my data is a mess with some duplicates on some platforms like strava. Would love to see integration with Connect to more accurately track workouts.
“We have done an integration with Garmin smartwatches” sounds like Stern means that this integration is already in place. Otherwise he would have said “We are planning” oder “We are currently implementing” …
I guess, he just means the possibility to send heart rate data from a Garmin smartwatch to Peloton hardware. For him, as a manager without a lot of technical background, that is an “integration”.
I am not holding my breath for anything beyond that.
This article seems to be making something out of nothing. There was no announcement, I listened to the short interview, he definitely did not say a Garmin integration is “coming”. He’s probably referring to the fact that you can pair your garmin HR to the peloton today (this has gotten easier compared to years ago), but it’s not a full integration? I agree with Alex, I’m not holding my bread here.
I would move to garmin from Apple in a heartbeat if there was the same easy integration and data tracking from the watch!
Are there any updates?
