Peloton SVP of Global Communications Ben Boyd to Depart Company

A senior Peloton leader has announced his plans to depart the company. Senior Vice President of Global Communications Ben Boyd will leave the company after nearly two years. This was first reported by PR Week, and Boyd posted a personal message to his LinkedIn page:

…Today, I share that I’m leaving Peloton, but I do so knowing the likes of Lauren Weinberg, Liz Coddington, Tammy Albarrán, and others are leading it into an even brighter future.

Boyd started his post by discussing what led him to initially join Peloton two years ago, saying:

Nearly two years ago I joined one of the most amazing and impactful companies of our times, Peloton Interactive. Drawn by my love for the brand, my personal knowledge of the unparalleled fitness experiences it offers, and my belief in the future of the company, I jumped at the chance to lead global communications and editorial. I hoped to play some small part in the larger transformation agenda the company had embarked on while learning a thing or two along the way.

Although he is leaving, he went on to still advocate that people still consider joining Peoton.

After two years here, my advice is, if you’ve ever remotely considered Peloton, give it a try. Peloton is more than a Bike company – it’s a fitness lifestyle brand that reaches across fitness and personal wellness journeys, helping Members unleash their personal greatness. It’s a transformation company; it will transform you.

Peloton has not yet announced a replacement for the Senior Vice President of Global Communications position.

Late last year Peloton announced the addition of a new board member in Chris Bruzzo; and shortly before that announced the hiring of Lauren Weinberg as their new Chief Marketing Officer, replacing outgoing CMO Leslie Berland.

Today, I remain as confident about the future of Peloton as I was on my first day. I’m confident about its ability to impact Members’ lives (on an even grander scale) as well as to continue disrupting the world of fitness and wellness.

A few thank-you’s. I am grateful to the visionary co-founders for their dogged determination and unwillingness to take “no” for an answer – without them there would be no Peloton Interactive. Thanks to Barry McCarthy for taking a chance on me and then taking me into his confidence as we discussed and debated (sometimes intensely) how best to tell the chapters of the Peloton story. I’m deeply indebted to the best comms and editorial team I’ve ever worked with for all they taught me and for all we accomplished. I’m appreciative of the brilliant marketing minds (especially Leslie Berland) who collaborated to drive, reshape, and reignite this brand on the world stage. And, finally, to team members across every corner of the business, from supply chain to finance and legal to content, who fought every single day to ensure we lived up to our mission. You all have made me a better version of myself…and, while I remain a work in progress, I am better for our hard work, together.

I’m incredibly excited about what’s next for me, so stay tuned…

Peloton is now (and forever) embedded in my professional, personal, and wellness story. And that makes me one heck of a lucky man. #grateful #togetherwegofar #keeplearning
