Peloton has introduced a new feature for Tread and Tread+ users, allowing runners and walkers to track their splits in real time in the Just Workout and Entertainment modes.
Rolled out at the end of January 2025, this update adds a dedicated splits tab on the left side of the screen, displaying past splits for each mile (or kilometer) along with the current split pace when completing a Just Workout or Entertainment session. This is formatted similarly to the playlist or high-fives pop-up members are accustomed to seeing on their screens; it can be hidden and viewed as needed throughout the workout.

Previously, members had to catch their mile splits as they briefly flashed above their pace when reaching each new mile – a fleeting update that quickly disappeared. Now, with the new tab, users can view their splits at any time during their workout, making it easier to gauge performance in real time and adjust pacing as needed.
Note that this feature is currently only available for Just Run, Just Walk, Just with Goals, and Entertainment workouts.
It is not yet accessible during instructor-led classes, meaning members still need to rely on post-workout metrics for split details in those sessions. It is unclear whether the feature will eventually make its way to the traditional coach to camera format. However, it is currently available for both Tread and Tread+ devices.
For runners focused on pacing and goal-setting, this real-time split visibility should help with detailed tracking and real time adjustments during a self-guided workout. Would you like to see this feature added to standard Peloton running and walking classes as well?
This update for running comes as Peloton is also adding the pace target features to the Peloton app.
