Peloton Instructor Sam Yo is writing a book tentatively titled “The Monk’s Mindset”

Sam Yo is working on a new book, which is tentatively titled “The Monk’s Mindset”.

He shared the news last week on The Bruce Lee podcast.

The Bruce Lee podcast is hosted by Shannon Lee, who is Bruce Lee’s daughter. Sam Yo appeared on Episode #603 of the show, titled “Flowing with Sam Yo”.

The show notes for the episode tease the news about Sam’s book, saying it will be “chronicling his journey in discovering the mind-body connection”

During the interview, Sam shared a bit about how about the book came to be, and his writing process so far.

Sam Yo shared that he has been writing it for nearly 2 years. He was initially approached by some publishers, but wasn’t sure what he would write about.

Then, an agent approached Sam, who also happened to be a Peloton member. They explained to Sam the effect he has on people – in that he has a very calm, peaceful, grounded way of getting the best out of people. They suggested that the story Sam could write was how he came about that, and how people could learn from it.

Sam liked this idea, and the idea for his book was born. In the book, he writes about his journey to the temple (he was a monk prior to coming to Peloton), and how he applies his monastery teachings to every day life. This includes his personal life, as well as his professional life. Sam then goes on to share in the book how people can apply this to their own lives as well.

Sam Yo’s book doesn’t have an official release date yet, but he expects it to be available in 2025.

Sam Yo has been working on several projects in his spare time outside of Peloton. Last year, he joined the cast of “The King & I” in the UK for a few tour dates.
