Peloton has announced a last-minute New York studio closure on Friday, May 27. Peloton shared the news via the Official Peloton Member Page on Facebook, writing:
Due to maintenance at Peloton Studios NY, live classes scheduled on Friday, May 27, 2022 have been canceled. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to your workouts. Please check the updated schedule at members.onepeloton.com
Cancellation notices have been sent out for all New York-based classes across modalities. Note that there will still be a couple of live classes on Friday from the U.K. studio. The schedule appears to be back in full swing on Saturday and Sunday. You can view the updated schedule here.
This is the second studio closure in only a week; last weekend the New York studio was closed nearly the entire weekend, also due to “maintenance.” The cycling studio was also closed on May 5, again for “maintenance.”
In addition, the upcoming class schedule is currently showing nearly all encore classes, for both New York & London, for June 6-7.
And the PSNY studios will be closed again on May 30th for Memorial Day in the US.
It is not clear exactly what this continued maintenance is for – but it could be in preparation for the upcoming reopening of the studio. Though Peloton hasn’t yet announced an exact date, we’ve previously reported on both rumors of a soft reopening in June and a full reopening in August. Peloton could be making adjustments in order to prepare for members to attend classes in-person.
