Peloton Tread: Beginner Classes for Running Live in January

Peloton is offering live beginner-level running and bootcamp classes on the Tread throughout the month of January in an effort to provide content for new members and members who may be just starting their running journeys. Instructors Kirsten Ferguson, Jess Sims, and Matt Wilpers shared an announcement video to their Instagrams on New Year’s Day. Kirsten Ferguson’s caption reads:

Welcome to Team Tread!
Friends…We are bringing you 3 ways to commit to the tread in the New Year! Whether you are new or just ready to renew your routine, we gotchu! Join us all January for Special LIVE Beginner classes!

Members will have three options depending on their specific running goals:

  1. Kirsten Ferguson will be teaching walking classes for members who want to start out with walks before building to runs. Her classes will be live every Thursday at 10:00am ET.
  2. Jess Sims will be offering beginner bootcamp classes every Tuesday at 5:30pm ET for members who want to split their time between running on the Tread and strength work on the mat.
  3. Matt Wilpers will be teaching beginner running classes every Tuesday at 7:30am ET for members who are working towards a new running goal.

If you’re looking for additional beginner running classes, you can use the filter function to search by “Difficulty” and select the “Beginner” option. Peloton also has a couple of running programs, including the “You Can Run” program, which is designed to be taken over eight weeks and builds up to 30 minutes of sustained running. There is also a “Road to Your 5K” program for those working towards running their first 5K race.

Remember that even if you don’t have a Peloton Tread or another treadmill, you can always take the classes outside using the Peloton App. Whether you’re a new member or a longtime member who is focusing on running more in 2022, be sure to check out this new content!
