“Invite-Only” Discounts for Refurbished Peloton Bikes & Bike+ Being Emailed

Peloton is targeting select prospective members with an “invite-only” offer for refurbished Bikes and Bike+ models.

Over the past several days, Peloton has emailed unique, user-specific one time use codes that allow recipients to purchase these refurbished devices at a special rate. These emails are being sent with the subject “Save up to $400 on Peloton Certified Refurbished Bikes”

Through Tuesday, September 24 customers who received the email can buy a refurbished original Peloton Bike for $995, which is a $150 discount off the standard price of $1,145. Customers can buy a refurbished Peloton Bike+ for $1,595, which is a $400 discount off the standard price of $1,995. These costs include delivery and set-up; but note that the All-Access membership required along with any hardware device purchase is not included.

This initiative follows closely on the heels of Peloton’s recent Labor Day sale, which only featured discounts on the Tread and Tread+, leaving Bikes out of the promotional opportunity. The introduction of invite-only codes shortly after may suggest a strategic move to reach a specific audience with offers on the Bike and Bike+ without broad discounts.

What makes this offer stand out is its exclusivity. Unlike typical promotions or sales that are widely advertised on Peloton’s website or social media channels, this deal is being kept in a limited capacity, available only to those who receive the unique email offer. As of publishing time there is no mention of the refurbished Bike/Bike+ discount on Peloton’s website, indicating this is a targeted campaign.

Peloton has discussed recently how they are going to hold fewer, and less frequent promotions. The company also stopped offering the original Peloton Bike as a rental option as they wanted to focus on selling what refurbished inventory they had.

Peloton officially debuted their Certified Refurbished program in December of 2022, and they have held occasional sales since then – typically advertised widely instead of in this invite-only fashion.

Refurbished Peloton Bikes come with a standard one-year warranty, with an option to purchase an extended warranty down the line. All sales of refurbished bikes are final – members cannot return the device once it has been delivered.

In 2023 Peloton expanded their refurbished bike program to the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia. As a reminder, refurbished bikes are also available via eBay in Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
