Peloton’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Liz Coddington recently provided insights into the Strength+ beta and the new teams feature during a Goldman Sachs investor conference.
When Peloton first opened sign-ups for the Peloton Strength+ app beta, interest surged with over 50,000 people signing up to participate. However, Coddington revealed that Peloton has currently limited the beta program to just around 3,500 users. The beta phase is for Peloton to focus on optimizing the product, gathering valuable feedback, and making quick iterations based on user experiences.
Update – The Peloton Strength+ app is now officially available.
The Strength+ beta, which aims to elevate strength training through personalized feedback, is currently only available to iPhone users in the United States. While the beta is restricted for now, there is the potential for future expansion, so it is still worth signing up if interested.

Peloton is continuing to drive members towards the sign up page with social media posts and banners on their various websites.
The Peloton Strength+ app beta program was first announced last month. Designed as an entirely separate app from the existing Peloton digital app, it is being created “for those who want to engage more deeply in strength workouts while at the gym.” The Strength+ app has been described as “Instructor-led workout programs in a gym setting, paired with audio guidance and expert coaching, as well as a custom workout generator that designs a plan based on equipment access, areas of focus, time availability and more.” We are currently part of the beta program and will be sharing a first look at the new app soon.
Coddington also shared an update regarding Peloton’s new teams feature. Since its recent launch, members have enthusiastically embraced the concept, with around 20,000 teams already created. This feature, designed to foster group accountability and motivation, has sparked a new wave of social engagement within the Peloton community.
According to Coddington, Peloton is also seeing a noticeable increase in users following each other after joining teams, which they believe will lead to stronger organic community-building. In the long run, this enhanced social connection could drive further user acquisition and signups, contributing to Peloton’s growth strategy.
The teams feature became available earlier this month, and allows members to create teams with friends and launch community workout challenges.
