Becs' 30 minute Progression Run in which she discusses the 2024 Tokyo Marathon.

Peloton Instructor Becs Gentry Will Run the 2024 Tokyo Marathon

Peloton instructor Becs Gentry has announced she will run the 2024 Tokyo Marathon. She has mentioned this in passing in a couple of classes over the past few months; however, she talked about it at length in her recent 30 minute Progression Run from February 15, 2024.

This will be Becs’ “sixth star” – in other words, her sixth major marathon. For those unfamiliar, the six major marathons are: Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York. This means that after running Tokyo, Becs will have completed all six major marathons.

In her recent class she discussed that her training has not been perfect for this upcoming race.

This will also be her first marathon since competing in the Olympic Trials in 2021. However, instead of focusing solely on her performance, she is looking to enjoy this race. She stated:

“I am excited to show up without a massive pressure on my shoulders to perform at a really high level. I’m going to do my best for where I’m at right now. I am a busy working mom, and I’m so okay with that. So, I’m going into this race with the mindset of how lucky I am.”

Becs goes on to mention that this will also be her first marathon since welcoming her baby in 2022.

Becs is one of many Peloton instructors to announce they are running a marathon in early 2024. Matt Wilpers will run the 2024 Boston Marathon; Kristin McGee, Leanne Hainsby, Ben Alldis, Jeffrey McEachern, and Jon Hosking will run the 2024 London Marathon; and Erik Jäger, Tobias Heinze, Jeffrey McEachern, and Irene Kaymer (formerly Scholz) will run the 2024 Berlin Half Marathon.

The 2024 Tokyo Marathon will take place on March 2, 2024. Best of luck to Becs!
