Peloton Rolling Out New Colors For Power Zone Bar

Peloton Bike users may have noticed a slight change in their power zone bar over the past couple of days.

Peloton is rolling out a user interface update that has changed the colors of the power zone bar. This initially started with a slow rollout over the past 48 hours, but has quickly expanded across the majority of the Peloton user base.

Previously, the Peloton Zone 1 color was light blue, followed by a light blue/green, lime green, mustard yellow, light orange, darker orange, and red.

Now, the Zone 1 color is purple. This has also shifted the colors of higher zones as well. Zone 2 is now light blue, followed by a light blue green, lime green, yellow, orange, and red.

Though the power zone bar is only used specifically in Peloton’s Power Zone rides, anyone who takes one of Peloton’s FTP (functional threshold power) classes will have the bar available for them in all future classes, no matter the type.

You can also get the power zone bar by manually adding your FTP to your profile – either by estimating it or taking a test and inputting the value.

In case you missed it, Peloton recently rolled out ERG mode – or auto-resistance/auto-follow as commonly referred to within the Peloton community – on Power Zone classes for Bike+ owners. When enabled, this feature allows the Peloton Bike+ to automatically adjust the resistance to keep members within the specific zone identified by the instructor – even if the rider’s cadence changes.
