Peloton Tri Returns September 19, 2026 with New “Peloton Triathlon” Team & 4 Week Training Plan

The Peloton Tri is returning for a second year, with this year’s event set for Saturday, September 19, 2026.

Matt Wilpers shared the news via Instagram, writing:

“Mark your calendars, the @onepeloton Triathlon is back on September 19th. 1) 30 min Row + 5 min transition. 2) 30 min Ride + 5 min transition. 3) 30 min Run. Join the Peloton Triathlon social team on the Peloton app for a 4 week training plan leading up to the race. Stay tuned for more details.”

The format is the same as last year: three back-to-back 30 minute classes with five minutes in between each to transition.

In the video, Matt lays out two goals for the day: “keep moving” and “have some fun.”

The new piece this year is the team. There is now an official “Peloton Triathlon” team in the Peloton app, which is where the four week training plan will be shared. Matt welcomed members with the following post:

“Welcome to Team Peloton Tri! Whether you’re taking on all three disciplines for the first time or you’re back for another round, you’re in the right place. This Team is where we’ll prepare together leading up to the Peloton Tri on September 19. Over the next several weeks you’ll find training recommendations, encouragement from fellow members, and plenty of motivation along the way. Let’s do this!”

Official Peloton Teams arrived in October 2025, letting instructors run member teams around a specific goal or program. Matt already leads the Move For Life team, and he has used it to roll out training plans as posts in the team feed rather than as formal programs, which is the likeliest shape for the Tri plan as well.

The first Peloton Tri was held on September 13, 2025, with Matt Wilpers taking members through all three classes live from Peloton Studios New York starting at 9:00am ET. Peloton also created a flash challenge for it, with a gold badge for anyone who finished all three.

Peloton invited a handful of members to compete in person through a submission form, and with only eight rowers on the studio floor, eight people were able to do the full triathlon. Peloton did release spots for the run and ride through the regular studio booking process, so additional members could take those two classes in studio without doing the whole event.

Peloton has not yet confirmed how in-person access for this year will work. However, the classes will be available live to everyone like normal, and then be available on-demand.

All three classes from last year are still available in the Peloton Triathlon collection, which is also where this year’s classes will presumably land:

You can see Matt Wilpers’ full post via Instagram. Matt said more details are on the way, and we will share the class times and any other information as they are announced.
