New Peloton Guide Feature: Compare Previous Workouts

The Peloton Guide has received a small but useful update in recent weeks. Moving forward, when repeating a specific class already taken, members can compare key statistics across the multiple workouts. This only applies to classes that have the movement tracker feature enabled.

This comparison can be done both in real time as the class is progressing, as well as afterwards in the app.

When taking the class, members may see a second set of numbers at the bottom of the screen. The statistics show the previous weight selection, rep count, and volume from the last time the workout was taken – all are shown under what the values are for the current class being taken.

Once completed, the Peloton app has been updated as well to allow more comparison between repeated classes – specifically, the number of reps, as well as the weight selections.

Members will see the specific exercise from the class, and below it – the rep count and weight volume based on the weight selection for that specific set. It includes today’s workout, as well as previous times you took it.

Note that there is a “compare stats” setting that can be toggled on or off so that the comparison stats can be disabled or enabled.

This new feature will allow Guide users to more easily track their progress from the last time they took a specific class. This will be especially useful for classes that are designed to be repeated, such as classes within a program or that contain a benchmark test.

This may be programs like the Pump Up The Volume strength programs, or one of the many one week split-strength programs Peloton has on the platform. You can view a list & details of all of Peloton’s programs here.

The rep counting and virtual weight rack features were added to the Guide in September of 2022, and you can read more about them via our overview article if you’re unfamiliar.

Special thanks to Jeff Hysen #bmfc1 for the heads up on this! If you’re a Guide user, will this new feature be helpful to you?
