Peloton is once again expanding their relationship with eBay, this time in the United States. Starting today, July 25, refurbished Bike+ devices are available via Peloton’s U.S. eBay storefront.
Peloton has published a new support page containing additional information:
We are excited to announce that Certified Refurbished Peloton Products are now available on the Official Peloton storefront on eBay®. Certified Refurbished Peloton Products are products that have been lightly used, refurbished by trained Peloton experts for resale via eBay®, come with Peloton’s standard 1-year limited warranty, and eBay®’s standard 2 year warranty via AllState (which runs concurrently).
Note that currently only the refurbished Bike+ is available via eBay, not the original Bike. The refurbished Bike+ can be purchased from eBay for $1,995 – which is the same price offered on the Peloton website and is $500 less than a new Bike+.
According to Peloton, refurbished Bike+ devices are “thoroughly inspected, repaired and tested to make sure they meet Peloton standards, but may have slight cosmetic damage such as minor scratches.” Bike+ devices purchased from eBay are eligible for financing through eBay’s financing partners, and come with a one-year limited warranty. Note that Peloton referral codes cannot be used.
Peloton also says that members get “eBay®’s standard 2 year warranty via AllState (which runs concurrently)” – so potentially a second year worth of warranty by purchasing through eBay, although it isn’t clear how good this warranty is or what is covered.
Peloton first launched on eBay in Germany in August of 2022, and then expanded to the United Kingdom in December of 2022. Note that in both countries the original Bike is offered, unlike in the U.S. at the moment.
