Peloton has begun introducing a new feature to the app that enables members to track reps and weight when using the Peloton Gym classes within the Peloton app. The Peloton Gym support page has been updated with a new section called “Weight & Rep Tracking.”
Note that this feature is only available for the iOS version of the app. In addition, users must have iOS 16 or higher. However, this is expected to be added to Android shortly as well.
As usual with new features these days, it is a slow rollout, so you might not see this immediately in your app.
The virtual weight rack and rep tracking features are signature to the Peloton Guide, and are now expanding in some form to the app. However, the Guide uses a camera to perform the functions automatically. On the app, members will have to manually input their data. Doing so will allow them to track and log their workout data within the Peloton platform.
The support page contains detailed instructions for how to track weight and reps.
There is an option to input the weight you’re using for a particular strength workout, and you can even change the weight selection depending upon the specific movement, or make alterations if you end up increasing or decreasing the weight selection for the same exercise.
Note that once you mark the round “complete,” this will lock the weight field, and you will be unable to make alterations unless you go back and mark the round “incomplete.”
For the rep tracking aspect of the feature, the reps will be pre-filled based on the class plan. However, members can adjust the numbers as they go so that their exact workout is tracked.
Peloton Gym initially launched in May of 2023, alongside Peloton’s brand relaunch and new App tiers. If you want to learn more about what Peloton Gym is and how it works, be sure to check out our complete overview and guide.
