Peloton is rolling out a software update intended to address the ongoing issue with Tread screens not turning off.
As a refresher, back in December a software update resulted in Bike owners having trouble with their resistance, and Tread owners not being able to turn their tablets off. While a fix for the Bike issue rolled out relatively quickly, the Tread issue was not expected to be addressed until January 2024.
Peloton posted an update to the status page on January 8, 2024 indicating that a fix has been implemented and is starting to roll out. All Tread owners can expect to receive the update to fix the issue with screens not turning off by Wednesday, January 10.
This issue first originated in December. Following a software update Tread users noticed that their tablets would not stay asleep. Customers reported that when they turned the power button off, the screen only went dark for a few seconds before turning back on. Members expressed concern that the device appeared to be constantly on.
Members were advised to perform a factory reset until a permanent fix was identified.
