Currently No Plans To Sell the Peloton Tread+ Outside the United States

For the first time since resuming sales of the Tread+, Peloton has reconfirmed that they have still have no plans currently to sell the device outside the United States.

In a recent Instagram post from the central @OnePeloton account about the Tread+, a user commented asking if the device would ever become available in the United Kingdom. Peloton responded, writing:

“We currently do not have plans to sell the Peloton Tread+ outside of the US. Please stay tuned for more information.”

This means that members in the U.K. – as well as Peloton’s other markets of Canada, Germany, Austria, and Australia – should not expect the Tread+ to launch in their countries as of now.

To be clear, this has been Peloton’s position for years, even before the 2021 recall. However, this is the first time they have officially confirmed that they do not intend to sell the device outside the U.S. since the relaunch.

Note that Peloton’s exact wording in the comment – “currently do not have plans” – leaves the door open for a potential change to this stance. However, the Tread+ is a very large and heavy device, and may simply not make sense for other markets in which doors, hallways, and homes in general are typically smaller than in the U.S. The basic Tread, which is lighter and has a smaller footprint, is likely a better fit for Peloton’s other markets.

Peloton resumed sales of the Tread+ in the United States with a preorder phase in December 2023. Deliveries began earlier this month and Peloton recently provided another update to customers just last week.
