The Peloton rowing team appears to be poised to add an additional instructor to their roster: Ben Alldis. A rowing class with Ben temporarily appeared in the on-demand library, though note it has since been removed.
The class was 20 minutes in length and was labeled a “HIIT Row [Rehearsal].” There was a blank image for the screen grab; however, it was indeed a real rowing class taught by Ben.
Though plans could always change, this strongly suggests that Ben will be announced as a rowing instructor in the near future. He would join the existing team of Ash Pryor, Alex Karwoski, Katie Wang, Adrian Williams & Matt Wilpers.
Ben would be the first United Kingdom-based coach to teach rowing on the Peloton platform. Note that the Row is not currently available for sale in the U.K. – however, last year CEO Barry McCarthy indicated that Peloton is working towards an international rollout and specifically mentioned the U.K. market. Peloton could be preparing to announce the availability of the Row in the U.K. and could time the announcement with the addition of the first U.K.-based coach – though this is all currently speculation.
In case you missed it, Peloton recently announced that the Row will be available for sale in Canada in time for the 2023 holiday season.
Ben has been in New York City over the past few days, and has even taught live classes from Peloton Studios New York (PSNY). The rowing class with Ben that temporarily appeared on-demand was filmed in the NYC strength studio – where rowing content is also recorded.
We will share updates on this story as soon as new details become available. Are you excited by the idea of Ben teaching rowing content?
