Peloton instructor Rebecca Kennedy has announced an “unofficial” split strength program.
Rebecca initially teased the news in her latest 30 minute Upper Body Strength class, and then made the full announcement via her Instagram Stories.
In the video Rebecca calls the series a “pseudo-split.” She states:
“I’m basically creating a four day split, dropping entirely available on-demand. Not under programs, not under collections. They’ll be individual classes that all speak to each other. So you can bookmark them, you can take them at your own pace. But they’re meant to be a split. I designed and wrote this as a program with four days so you don’t have to do five days a week.”
This series is “unofficial” in that classes will be released each week to the on-demand library, rather than being housed within the programs tab, which requires members to take classes sequentially and within a designated time frame.
There will be a total of four classes airing between January 14 and February 14, 2024. Rebecca shares in the video that there will be two upper body classes, one lower body class, and one full body class. The full body class will be 45 minutes, but the upper and lower body classes will be 30 minutes in length.
Since this is an unofficial program, there are no badges available for it.
List of classes in unofficial Rebecca Kennedy 4-day Split Strength Training Program
Rebecca has confirmed that the order below is the recommended order of the program
- Day 1 – 30 min. Upper Body Strength – Rebecca Kennedy – 1/24/24 @ 10:00am ET
- Day 2 – 30 min. Glutes & Legs Strength – Rebecca Kennedy – 1/31/24 @ 10:00am ET
- Day 3 – 30 min Upper Body Strength – Rebecca Kennedy – 2/14/24 @ 10:00am ET
- Day 5 – 45 min Full Body Strength – Rebecca Kennedy – 2/9/24 @ 1:00pm ET
Instead of doing Day 1, 2, 3, then 5, Rebecca also said the program could be done as Day 1, 2, 4, and 6.
All classes were available by Wednesday, February 14th.
Rebecca shared that she was releasing the program this way, in a series of on-demand classes, in an effort to make the program available to members more quickly. She said that if she waited and produced it as part of an “official” program, it would take much longer for it to be available.
In case you missed it, Rebecca also has a formal intermediate split strength program she released last October. The program includes five classes designed to be taken over the course of one week, and repeated over time to build strength.
Rebecca share that she recommends you take this unofficial program after taking her official 5 day split program.
Rebecca Kennedy also said that this program is not for beginners. She said “start training with either beginner classes 2-3x week for 4-6 weeks minimum before jumping into this. It’s an intermediate level so you need a good understanding of basic movements and their form and have built up a good foundation of strength before jumping into a challenging program 4x a week”
She also has mentioned that the classes in this 4-day split program will not be movement tracker enabled, for those who own the Peloton Guide.
A few more questions about the program were answered by Rebecca on Instagram here.
Earlier this week we shared that Robin Arzón and Andy Speer have new benchmark strength classes, intended to be repeated every 4-8 weeks to track and measure progress.
