Peloton’s Power Zone Bar Bug Still Not Fixed 2+ Weeks Later

Peloton’s Power Zone bar has a display bug that has now lingered for more than two weeks.

The issue is with the row of zone boundary numbers printed beneath the output bar at the bottom of the cycling screen. Normally the row starts at 0 and climbs through seven values across the zones. With the bug, the leading 0 drops off the front and an extra value appears at the top end, so every number is shifted one slot to the left of where it belongs.

In the example below, the correct row, before the bug began, reads 0, 139, 189, 227, 265, 302, and 378.

The buggy version instead reads 139, 189, 227, 265, 302, 378, and 428, with the 0 gone and an arbitrary 428 tacked on at the top of zone 7. The exact numbers vary by rider, since they are based on your FTP.

The good news is that the bar itself still fills the correct zone as you pedal, so your actual zone guidance is intact.

It is the printed boundary numbers that are misaligned, which makes this more of a cosmetic annoyance than something that changes your zones. Still, riders who glance at those numbers to judge exactly where they sit within a zone should know they are currently off.

There is no official word from Peloton on a timeline for a fix. Some members say they have reported the issue to Peloton Support, who told them a fix is in the works, but it has not shown up on Peloton’s official list of known issues.

This is not the first Power Zone display problem Peloton has had. Back in early 2024, a separate FTP bug altered some members’ zones after a software update, and support similarly said a fix was on the way at the time.

A software update did roll out to Peloton bikes in the past 24-48 hours, however, the bug has continued to happen even after those updates.

We will share an update when Peloton pushes a fix. Have you noticed the shifted numbers on your Bike’s Power Zone bar?
