There is currently a bug related to Peloton’s power zone bar. This is the visual indicator that shows what zone you are in, if you are riding with power zones.
Historically, in addition to being visible in regular classes once you have enabled it, you have also been able to view the power zone bar during “Just Rides” and other non-class sessions. This allows you to follow your own structured workout if you want, while not necessarily taking a traditional class.
For the past several days, this feature has been missing in Just Ride and other types of non-class workouts. Members have been getting mixed messages from Peloton, with some reporting that customer support had indicated this was removed on purpose, but that they could submit a feature request to add it back.
However, Peloton has now indicated that the power zone bar not appearing in Just Ride and non-class workouts is a bug – and it should be returning in the near future.
Today, Peloton created an official bug report for this. The incident is titled: “The metrics bar for power zones is not currently visible on Just Ride”.
Peloton’s update on this indicates that they know what is causing an issue, and that a fix should be rolling out to restore this feature next week sometime. They said:
“The team has root caused the issue, and a fix will roll out in next week’s release starting on 11/12.”
This likely won’t show up immediately on November 12th, but could take a few days into the week.
