Jess Sims Reveals “Do Hard Things” Live Cross-Training Program

Jess Sims has shared the full details of “Do Hard Things,” her first live cross-training program, starting Monday, September 21.

The program consists of five live classes across one week, with members encouraged to repeat that same week for four weeks.

All five workouts take place at 6:30am ET Monday through Friday:

  • Monday – 45 min Tread Bootcamp
  • Tuesday – 45 min Full Body Strength
  • Wednesday – 45 min Walk + Run
  • Thursday – 45 min Full Body Strength
  • Friday – 45 min Tread Bootcamp
  • Saturday & Sunday – Rest

Peloton says the one-week program is designed to be repeated for four weeks before culminating in a live Sims 60 class.

Jess shared the details on Instagram, writing:

“Do Hard Things is my first LIVE cross-training program and I couldn’t be more excited. One week of live classes meant to be repeated for four weeks to help you train your body and mind that you can handle and get through hard…and even be GRATEFUL for hard.”

Although there are normally no live classes on Wednesdays, they will be making an exception and Jess will be teaching live Wednesday at 6:30am as part of the program.

Jess also revealed that she will not release any additional new classes during the following three weeks, giving members time to stay focused on repeating the Do Hard Things program.

“After these five classes are done I will NOT be dropping classes for 3 weeks so we can stay focused on this program. I’ll be super active on Peloton Teams (on the app) checking in, answering questions, and cheering you on. So make sure you join!”

That structure is similar to Peloton’s Split programs, where members complete a set schedule and then repeat the same classes over multiple weeks rather than receiving a new set of workouts each week.

Peloton Teams will also be part of the experience. Jess says she plans to remain active there during the repeat weeks, answering questions, checking in, and encouraging members as they work through the program again.

Peloton has increasingly used Teams alongside structured training. The Peloton Triathlon Team was created around Matt Wilpers’ four-week training plan ahead of the Peloton Tri, while the Outdoor Run Club Series directs members to the Race Training Team.

Peloton first teased Do Hard Things earlier this month with little more than the September 21 date and a video of Jess describing doing hard things as a transferable skill.

The live-program format itself is not new for Peloton, although it remains different from the company’s traditional Programs experience. Boost Your Base: Power Zones mixed new on-demand workouts with a live class each week, while Discover Kettlebells combined on-demand instructional classes with scheduled live workouts.

More recently, Peloton’s Live Spring Cross-Training Plan was organized through a Collection while its live workouts were taking place.

Peloton has not yet confirmed exactly where Do Hard Things will appear in the app, but based on those previous live plans, it will likely initially be organized through a Collection rather than the traditional Programs section.

The program begins Monday, September 21 with a 45 min Tread Bootcamp at 6:30am ET, followed by another live class at the same time each weekday through Friday.
