The ride took place on Saturday, June 24 at 3:30pm ET and featured music by James Brown, music that sampled James Brown, or music that was inspired by James Brown. The class description reads:

Mix it up with Denis in a Sample That ride fueled by the iconic music from the Godfather of Soul, James Brown. What better way to celebrate Black Music Month?

Denis posted about the ride a few hours before he taught live on Saturday on his Instagram stories, writing:

Join me this Saturday to celebrate the music legacy of the one and only…James Brown.
The one and only godfather of soul.

Denis’ Sample That rides are one of his signature series. The playlists are composed of classic hits along with music that samples that hit.

Note that this was not an official Peloton artist series, as it was not announced by one of the central Peloton social media accounts and did not earn an artist series badge. However, it is the closest Peloton has come to an official James Brown artist series to date.
