Free Peloton Classes: How To Tell Which Peloton Classes Are Free With the Peloton App Free Tier

With the long-anticipated launch of Peloton’s digital app tiers – which were officially announced last month – there have been many questions swirling around the Peloton community. One of the main questions is in regard to the free version of the app (Peloton App Free), and which classes are actually available if you have this level of membership.

Peloton App Free is the most basic and limited option of the Peloton App. Customers do not need to provide a credit card to sign up, and there is no expiration date or limited time offer for the free version. There is simply a list of approximately 50 free classes members can choose from, in addition to a few “featured” extra classes beyond those 50 that will be rotated on a periodic basis. Note that the free app will not include the modalities of Bootcamps (Bike, Tread, or Row), or rowing – unless a class from one of those modalities happens to be featured for a limited time.

As App-only members weigh which path to take once their legacy period is up in December of 2023, there have been questions around how to view which classes are currently free. Those interested can navigate to https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/free to view the list of free classes.

As of publishing time there are just over 70 classes available. They are taught by a wide variety of instructors in a wide variety of modalities – though there are no bootcamps or rowing classes. The classes are 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes in length – there are no classes longer than 30 minutes. Classes are offered in English, German, and Spanish.

For reference, the description for Peloton App Free is below:

Designed to supplement a user’s current workout routine or as a taste-test of all Peloton has to offer for a newbie. This tier currently provides more than 50 classes curated across 12 of Peloton’s modalities to enable the user to pair workouts to meet their individual interests, even as those goals change over time. It will also include a rotating set of featured classes that will be refreshed on an ongoing basis. (Free. Zippo. Zilch. Nothing.)

As a reminder, the new App tiers are not relevant to All-Access members, who pay the $44 per month that is required to access Peloton content from their hardware device.
