Peloton Lowers Refurbished Original Bike+ Protection Plan Price to $199

Peloton has lowered the price of the Protection Plan for the Certified Refurbished Original Series Bike+, dropping it from $249 to $199.

The refurbished Original Series Bike plan remains unchanged at $149. Both refurbished plans have flat pricing, meaning members pay the same amount whether they add the plan when purchasing their hardware or later during the eligibility period.

That differs from Peloton’s newer Cross Training hardware. For example, the Cross Training Bike+ Protection Plan costs $269 when purchased within 30 days of the hardware purchase, but increases to $319 when purchased later.

When Peloton overhauled Protection Plan pricing in October 2025, the company raised prices across their current hardware and introduced the two pricing tiers based on when coverage was purchased. The refurbished Original Series Bike and Bike+ were exceptions, remaining at flat rates of $149 and $249 respectively.

The latest change also creates a $50 difference between new and refurbished versions of the Original Series Bike+. The Protection Plan for a new Original Series Bike+ remains $249, while coverage for the refurbished version of the same hardware is now $199.

The price reduction follows a much larger change to the cost of the hardware itself. Peloton permanently lowered the Certified Refurbished Original Series Bike+ from $1,995 to $1,395 in May, a $600 reduction.

Adding the newly priced $199 Protection Plan brings the combined cost of the refurbished Bike+ and extended protection to $1,594, before taxes and the separate Peloton All-Access Membership.

The coverage itself has not changed. Peloton’s standard limited warranty provides 12 months of coverage, while the Protection Plan extends coverage by another 36 months for 48 months total.

There is a $0 deductible and no annual claim limit, subject to the maximum liability outlined in the plan terms.

Members can purchase a Protection Plan for eligible hardware for up to 12 months after delivery. If it is purchased after delivery, accidental damage coverage begins 30 days after the plan is purchased, while the other portions of the coverage begin immediately. Coverage still ends 48 months after the original hardware delivery date.

Protection Plans purchased on or after April 5, 2022 can also be transferred once by the original owner to a subsequent owner, and Peloton allows plans to be returned at any time for a prorated refund.

We will continue tracking Peloton pricing changes as they roll out.
