Alongside the launch of their newly upgraded hardware devices (the Cross Training devices), Peloton has quietly made a notable change to their extended warranty program – raising prices and introducing tiered pricing based on when members purchase the coverage.
Previously, members could buy an extended warranty anytime within the first 12 months of ownership, and the warranty price remained the same regardless of when the warranty was purchased.
Now, Peloton has introduced two separate price tiers: one price if the protection plan is purchased within 30 days of delivery; and a higher price if it is purchased after 30 days but within one year of delivery. Note that both of these prices are a higher cost than what warranties cost on the original series of Peloton devices.
This means members still have up to a year to add extended warranty coverage, but waiting beyond that first month will now cost more.
The Peloton support page now includes updated Peloton warranty pricing based on the hardware type and when the plan is purchased.

For the Peloton Bike, the plan now costs $169 if purchased within 30 days of delivery, or $199 if purchased later, up from the previous flat rate of $149. The Bike+ protection plan has risen from $249 to $269 within 30 days and $319 after 30 days.
The Peloton Tread has also seen an increase, jumping from $299 to $349 within 30 days, or $399 if purchased later.
The Tread+ has the largest price hike, moving from $499 to $649 within 30 days, or $699 if purchased after 30 days. Finally, the Peloton Row+ now costs $399, regardless of when the plan is purchased – an increase from the previous $299 price.
Refurbished versions of the original series Peloton Bike and Bike+ have fixed pricing of $149 and $249, respectively, with no difference based on purchase timing.
The support page also includes a complete breakdown of what types of issues are covered under each plan. The actual coverage appears to be the same as it was before – with just the pricing changing with these updates.
The standard limited warranty covers the frame and some components for up to 12 months, while the protection plan extends coverage to 48 months total and includes additional benefits like accidental damage protection, power surge coverage, parts and labor for repairs, and no deductibles or annual claim limits.
The extended warranties are still transferrable to one other person (i.e. the first person you sell the device to can have the warranty transfer to them).
Peloton last carried out a complete overhaul of their extended warranty program back in 2022.
