Peloton highlights recent updates to Teams feature in app

Peloton has rolled out some more updates to the “Teams” feature in the app over the past year, aimed at increasing engagement and bringing more conversations into the app. They highlighted several of those newer features this past week for people who might not have used the app or interacted with a team recently.

The first Peloton teams update they highlighted was the ability to have conversations in the Teams area – with free text posts about any topic. As part of those conversations, you can tag other team members in your posts.

This feature first began to roll out in May.

In addition, they also showcased how you can recommend specific classes in the team feed – which will include thumbnail images from the classes. This feature was added over the summer.

Peloton has also added some new features for team admins – including the ability to pin posts. This aims to help admins keep “highlighting important announcements, challenges, or updates for all teammates.”

They also took time to highlight the “Team Highlights” section. This area gives you an overview of challenges taking place, and weekly stats to see how you, and the rest of your team, are doing.

Peloton had shared during the last earnings call that they would be adding more social features through teams. At the time, they said some of those features would be “increasingly guided by our Instructors” – so it’s possible more new features are on the way, as these updates seen in recent weeks don’t appear to be instructor-guided.

We will continue to share about new updates to Teams and other updates in the Peloton app as they are rolled out.
