Peloton is looking to deepen its sense of community by expanding its “Teams” feature within the Peloton app, according to statements made during the company’s recent Q4 2025 earnings call and investor letter.
In their investor letter, Peloton outlined a new strategic pillar called “Making Members for Life” – a commitment to retention and loyalty. This indicates that building stronger member connections is now a central, explicitly stated part of Peloton’s long-term vision.
One of the three segments supporting that goal is: “Creating even more supportive connections among our Members.”
To accomplish this, Peloton plans to invest in building out its existing Teams feature, aiming to deliver more social tools that connect members and foster accountability. The investor letter states:
We’ll deliver more social features through Teams, increasingly guided by our Instructors, so that our community can become even more engaged and encouraging.
It is not yet clear what “guided by our Instructors” will look like in practice, but the idea hints at deeper involvement from Peloton’s instructor roster in driving engagement within Teams. That could mean curated challenges, instructor-hosted groups, or something else – though nothing has been officially announced.
Peloton CEO Peter Stern also touched on the company’s social strategy during his comments on the earnings call itself. He stated:
“You’re also joining a supportive community. We’ve experimented with ways to strengthen this community and foster more engagement through our social network Teams. We have more features on the horizon to deepen connections and engagement among our members.”
The Teams feature originally launched as a way for members to join and create groups around shared interests, favorite instructors, and common fitness goals. As we have previously reported, Peloton has been gradually making Teams more interactive. The feature was recently updated to allow users to share classes directly within their team feed, making it easier to recommend workouts and coordinate rides or runs with friends.

While specifics on future Teams functionality remain unknown for now, it is clear that Peloton sees Teams as a key element in keeping members motivated, accountable, and socially connected over the long term.

Right now the functionality is pretty limited. It would be great if you could post ride results. Also, to facilitate running group challenges (beyond the lame, very limited ones they have built into the team-app) we need the ability to post photos, documents and hot links.
And it would be good to have a more direct link to the team feed, rather than the three or so click it take to get there now.
And it would be great to have access on the bike and computer, and not just on the phone app.
