Peloton offering senior discount to “select audiences” for a “limited time”

Peloton appears to be expanding its senior discount program, which was first spotted being tested earlier this year. This offers discounts on both hardware purchases and app membership to people aged 65 & over.

A new banner has now appeared on Peloton’s Special Pricing page (affiliate link) advertising: “Limited time: select audiences may be eligible for a senior discount.*”

The disclaimer associated with the banner simply reads:

“*Offer subject to eligibility requirements. Available to select users only and may not be available to all. Terms apply.”

Unfortunately, the page itself does not spell out what those eligibility requirements are, or who the “select users” are who qualify. Anyone interested will likely need to reach out to Peloton customer support directly to confirm whether they qualify.

A recent email sent to potential Peloton members also advertised the senior discount, saying “And for a limited time, select audiences may be eligible for a senior discount.”

As we reported in our original coverage, Peloton had been testing senior discounts with a dedicated page shown selectively to certain visitors. This latest banner appears to be a wider rollout of that same program – though still gated behind unspecified eligibility requirements rather than fully public.

Based on what we saw during the initial test, the senior discount follows the same structure as Peloton’s other special pricing programs for military members, first responders, healthcare workers, educators, students, and more recently government and hospital administrative workers.

The hardware discounts we saw offered to seniors were:

  • Cross Training Bike: $250 off, bringing the price to $1,445 (regularly $1,695)
  • Cross Training Bike+: $500 off, bringing the price to $2,195 (regularly $2,695)
  • Refurbished Original Bike: $150 off, bringing the price to $995 (regularly $1,145)
  • Refurbished Original Bike+: $350 off, bringing the price to $1,645 (regularly $1,995)
  • Cross Training Tread: $300 off, bringing the price to $2,995 (regularly $3,295)
  • Cross Training Tread+: $600 off, bringing the price to $6,095 (regularly $6,695)
  • Cross Training Row+: $300 off, bringing the price to $3,195 (regularly $3,495)

As with all of Peloton’s other special pricing programs, the All-Access Membership required for Peloton hardware is not discounted and would still be purchased separately. No group currently gets a discount on the All-Access Membership.

Seniors are also eligible for discounted pricing on Peloton App memberships:

  • App One (Monthly): $9.99 per month (normally $12.99)
  • App+ (Monthly): $19.99 per month (normally $28.99)
  • App One (Annual): $99 per year (normally $129)
  • App+ (Annual): $199 per year (normally $289)

During the initial test, eligibility was based on being age 65 or older and verifiable through Peloton’s verification partner (the same system used for all other special pricing groups). It’s unclear whether those same criteria apply to this broader rollout, or if the “select audiences” language points to additional restrictions beyond age.

Peloton has increasingly leaned on targeted promotions and expanded eligibility groups as a way to reach new members, particularly as overall subscriber numbers have declined in recent quarters.

If you think you might qualify, you can check the Special Pricing page directly or reach out to Peloton customer support for more details on eligibility.
