Peloton's new Extra Steps class collection

New Peloton “Extra Steps” Walking Classes Released (First Outdoor Audio Extra Step Classes)

Peloton has added a few new classes to its “Extra Steps” collection in the past few weeks. These are the first new additions since last September.

This started with two new classes being released on March 30th. It was followed by a new class being released this week as well (which has temporarily been removed as it was causing issues for people who tried to take it on a Tread).

While all previous extra step classes were traditional classes taught on the Tread, the new classes are outdoor audio classes (which can be taken on a Peloton Tread as well thanks to an update made in 2024).

The new Peloton extra steps walking classes are:

Extra Steps classes were first launched about a year ago and are designed to help members hit their daily step goals with short, approachable walking classes. Each class title includes an approximate step count so you know what you’re getting before you start, making it easy to pick the right length based on how many steps you still need for the day.

The format is BPM-driven, meaning the playlist tempo is set to guide your walking pace and help you hit the target step count within the class length. When the class type first launched, Peloton described them as “fun, BPM-driven sessions that’ll have you moving to the beat while you work toward your fitness goals.”

Classes in the collection range from 10 to 20 minutes, with step targets from roughly 1,000 to 2,500 steps. They’re now available as outdoor or treadmill walks, and are taught by a mix of instructors including Rebecca Kennedy, Kirsten Ferguson, Joslyn Thompson Rule, Marcel Dinkins, and others.

All the classes can be found in the Peloton Extra Steps collection here.
