Peloton Offering Free Upgraded Seat Posts to Original Series Bike & Bike+ Owners in the UK, Germany, Austria & Australia

Peloton is proactively offering eligible Original Series Bike and Bike+ owners in the UK, Germany, Austria, and Australia a free upgraded seat post, with orders opening today.

A new support page lays out the program, and Peloton is also emailing members in the four markets to notify them. The upgraded post carries Peloton’s latest seat post design, the same one already used on its Cross Training bikes.

The seat post is free and can be self-installed without a service call, with both video and PDF instructions provided. Orders open today, June 16, 2026, with shipping beginning July 1 and arriving within 8 to 12 weeks depending on the market.

In the email to members notifying them (the exact language varies slightly based on country and if the member owns a Bike vs Bike+), Peloton said:

At Peloton, we are constantly innovating our product designs to ensure our Member community always has the best possible equipment. As part of our ongoing commitment to quality, we are proactively offering all eligible Original Series Bike+ Members in the United Kingdom a complimentary upgraded seat post. We want to ensure your equipment has our most up-to-date seat post design, reflecting our uncompromising standards for product quality.

Bike owners are eligible if they have an Original Series Bike (PL-21 model) purchased in one of the four markets, and Bike+ owners are eligible if they have an Original Series Bike+ purchased there and manufactured before 2024. Most owners in those markets will be eligible, but not all. Some newer Bikes and Bike+ may already include the updated seat post design, so members can confirm their eligibility by entering their serial number on the checkout page.

The upgrade covers the same component that was the subject of formal recalls in North America. Peloton and the CPSC recalled the original Bike seat post in the US and Canada in 2023, and the original Bike+ seat post in 2025, after reports that the posts could break during use and pose fall and injury risks.

Those recalls did not cover bikes sold internationally. This program addresses the same seat post for international owners, though Peloton is offering it as a voluntary upgrade rather than through a formal recall – Peloton is not under a formal recall or working with any government agencies to offer this program.

Eligible members in the four markets can order their free upgraded seat post on the Bike & Bike+ checkout pages (the specific links vary by market), or reach out through Peloton’s support site with questions. We will continue to share updates as the program rolls out.
