Peloton has announced that they will pause live classes from Peloton Studios London (PSL) starting today, September 8 through Monday, September 12 in observance of Queen Elizabeth II’s death. Peloton shared the update via Instagram:
We’re pausing live classes.
As a mark of respect, classes out of Peloton Studios London will be cancelled for the remainder of the day and until Monday 12 September 2022*. For on-demand classes, please check our library. Live and on-demand classes from Peloton Studios New York are unaffected.
Peloton clarified that German language classes will resume on Sunday, September 11. Classes filmed from Peloton Studios New York (PSNY) will take place as scheduled.
Buckingham Palace announced the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, September 8. She was Britain’s longest serving monarch and she was 96 years old.
Numerous U.K. Peloton instructors have shared messages regarding the passing of the Queen on Instagram, including Leanne Hainsby and Ben Alldis.
Earlier this year Peloton held special Jubilee Celebration classes in honor of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, which marked the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s ascension to the throne. Queen Elizabeth was the first British monarch to celebrate this milestone, as she first became Queen in 1952.
