Peloton quietly published a new article yesterday stating that they would be stopping Tread sales & delivery in Scotland. This is due to new “Scottish Government guidance and regulations” enacted to fight the spread of COVID-19.
At this time, this only impacts the sale of the new Tread. With the Bike & Bike+, the delivery teams are performing threshold deliveries – where the bikes are left outside the home. The bikes are light enough most customers are then able move them where they want within the house. This is not possible with the Tread.
This means that we are unable to deliver the Peloton Tread in Scotland at this time. The Peloton Tread is a heavier device and requires in-home delivery and assembly to ensure it is installed safely.
What happens if you have ordered a Tread, but are still awaiting delivery? The page doesn’t explicitly provide an answer – it simply says that “we will contact you shortly to explain your options. We’re excited to get your Tread to you as soon as it is safe to do so.”
This is the second country within the United Kingdom to have a partial sales pause put in place in the last month. At the end of December, Peloton paused all sales to Northern Ireland due to Brexit-related issues.
