Bug with no metrics on Peloton Bikes (and temporary fix)

There is currently a bug impact some owners of the Peloton bike, as of December 14, 2024.

For those impacted, they are seeing no metrics when taking a class. In other words, their resistance, cadence, and output values all show 0, even when they are actively riding.

There have been reports about this across social media, and Peloton has now acknowledged the issue with a bug report.

While many times no metrics on a Peloton device can be attributed to cables coming loose and needing to be plugged in again, this appears to be a larger scale system-wide issue – although it is not impacting everyone, just a subset of Peloton owners.

There is currently no timeline for a fix, however, Peloton recommends doing a “full power cycle of the tablet” to fix it if the issue happens to you. This does appear to solve it for most people based on reports we have seen.

The bug title is “Some members experiencing no metrics on Bike”, and the latest update says:

Team is investigating issue with metrics displaying 0 on Bike. We advise members to do a full power cycle of the tablet if they experience this issue to correct it.

This is at least the second time this year Peloton has had official bugs related to metrics on the Bike. There was a similar bug in March where original Peloton Bikes were having issues with no metrics.

Peloton also still has an outstanding bug related to to the custom audio slider feature – it has been removed until at least January while Peloton fixes an issue with it causing the audio & video get out of sync.
