Peloton instructor Kirra Michel recovering from an injury

Peloton instructor Kirra Michel is recovering from an injury and will be on a modified class schedule while she recovers. She shared the news via Instagram:

A little teaching/life update for you, from me…

Get ready for more meditations coming your way from me, along with some Restorative & Chair Yoga 🤍

Ya girl needs to slow down while my body heals.

Being injured isn’t fun, and its pulled away a lot of my ‘coping mechanisms’ that help me get through challenging times on and off the mat. So it’s been strange… I’ve been replacing Yoga Asana with more prayers, meditation, and reading, which seems fitting right now, considering the world is experiencing such unbelievably heaviness and darkness… and I feel hopeless in much of it… my heart feels constantly overwhelmed and broken. My personal world is also going through some turbulence too. So I’m spending a lot of time alone or with deeply healing friends. Retreating inwards and also in nature to help find grounding.

And amongst all of this, I’m sitting with deep gratitude for everything that I DO have, and for the ways my body CAN move, and for the roof over my head and the fresh water I have access to daily.

Also, a friendly reminder, please remember everyone deals with pain, grief and darkness in their own personal ways. Be careful placing judgment on others for not healing and grieving the same way you do or expect them to. 🙏🏼

The post contains a video in which Kirra shows a brace on her arm. She explains that she is listening to her body and her doctors, and giving her body time to heal.

While Kirra takes a break from her regular Peloton programming, she will continue to release meditations, restorative, and chair yoga – content that will presumably not place any stress on her injury. According to the upcoming schedule, some of these classes will even take place live.

Numerous instructors have battled injuries throughout the year, including Adrian Williams, Kirsten Ferguson, and Marcel Dinkins.

We are wishing Kirra a speedy recovery!
