Peloton's City2Surf weekend event in Sydney with Joslyn Thompson Rule and Tim Robards

Peloton Hosting an Event in Sydney, Australia with Joslyn Thompson Rule & Tim Robards For City2Surf

Peloton is hosting a free morning event in Sydney on Friday, August 7, two days ahead of the City2Surf race, featuring Joslyn Thompson Rule & Tim Robards.

The event takes place at Clovelly Surf Life Saving Club and is split into two parts, each with its own check-in, so members can attend one or both.
The first is a panel conversation in partnership with Beyond Blue on resilience, mental health, and community connection, followed immediately by a mobility class co-hosted by Peloton instructor Joslyn Thompson Rule and Peloton Australia guest instructor Tim Robards. Check-in opens at 6:30am, with the panel and class running from 6:45am to 7:15am. Peloton notes that spots for this portion are limited.

The second is a shakeout run at 7:30am, powered by local group Coogee Run Club, with check-in from 7:00am. Peloton describes it as an inclusive run open to all paces and styles. Afterward, a coffee cart and light bites run from 8:00am to 9:30am.

For those unfamiliar with Tim Robards, he is an Australian TV personality and chiropractor who joined Peloton as a guest instructor in late 2025, in a move Peloton described as an investment in the Australian market. He is not part of the standing instructor roster and does not teach year round, instead appearing in two for one classes alongside other instructors. He is also only the second Australian instructor Peloton has had, after Kirra Michel joined as a yoga instructor in 2021.

This will be his third in-person Peloton event in Australia this year. He co-led a 5K at Peloton’s “Race Week Victory Lap” in Melbourne in March, held ahead of the Australian Grand Prix, and then led a Global Running Day 5km in Sydney in June, which was also run in partnership with Coogee Run Club. That makes this the second Peloton event held with the group. Robards and Joslyn Thompson Rule have also taught together before, including a two for one walk earlier this year.

Spots for the Sydney event are free and open to Peloton members and non-members alike, though tickets are limited to one per person, so anyone hoping to bring a friend will need to have them register separately. A confirmed registration and a signed waiver are both required to participate.

The venue is Clovelly Surf Life Saving Club at 411R Clovelly Road, sitting at the eastern end of Clovelly Road overlooking Clovelly Beach, and there is free public parking outside. There are no shower facilities on site, and only limited space for belongings, so Peloton is asking attendees to bring as little as possible.

The event is part of a much larger weekend for Peloton in Australia. As we shared in June, Peloton is partnering with City2Surf for a fourth consecutive year, having sponsored the 14km Sydney fun run since 2023. The race itself takes place on Sunday, August 9, with a Peloton Expo running August 6 through 8.

Beyond Blue is Peloton’s charity partner for the City2Surf race. At the expo and the post-race finisher’s village, members who complete a five minute warm-up or cool-down class will trigger a $10 donation from Peloton to Beyond Blue, limited to one class per person per day and capped at a $3,000 target.

If you are in Sydney and would like to attend the event with Joslyn & Tim, you can register for the event via Peloton’s event page.
