Peloton announced two major leadership updates on June 12, 2025, appointing Megan Imbres as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Francis Shanahan as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Peloton shared the news via press release, writing:

Peloton has appointed Megan Imbres to its leadership team as Chief Marketing Officer. The company has also created a Chief Technology Officer role, promoting Francis Shanahan, its Senior Vice President of Connected Fitness Software, to the position. Together, the appointments represent a commitment to creative and technical innovation to empower Peloton Members to live fit, strong, long, and happy.

Megan Imbres will officially join Peloton on July 7 and report directly to CEO Peter Stern. In her role as CMO, Imbres will oversee global brand and product marketing, growth marketing, creative, consumer insights, and Member engagement. Stern provided the following statement regarding Imbres’ hiring:

“Megan’s experience in growing direct-to-consumer subscription businesses, her creative instincts, and her track record of delivering culturally resonant campaigns will propel us on our path towards growth. I look forward to working alongside her and our fantastic marketing organization as we deepen our connection with our millions of existing Members and meet millions of new ones.”

Imbres’ appointment follows the April departure of Peloton’s previous CMO, Lauren Weinberg, and vice president of global communications, Letena Lindsay.

Peloton has also promoted Francis Shanahan to Chief Technology Officer, a new role that will report to Chief Product Officer Nick Caldwell. The release specifically notes he will have a focus on AI innovation & strategy.

Shanahan, who joined Peloton in March 2021 as Senior Vice President of Connected Fitness Software, will now lead Peloton’s engineering teams, oversee technical architecture, and drive customer-facing AI innovation.

The release points out that under Shanahan’s leadership, Peloton has already rolled out several product enhancements designed to improve Member experience and outcomes, such as the revamped home screen, Personalized Plans, and Pace Targets.

Caldwell provided the following statement regarding Shanahan’s promotion:

“Francis has been an instrumental partner in our product organization and understands the important role AI plays in our connected fitness ecosystem. In addition to being steeped in the exact innovation that we’ll need to realize our potential in this next chapter, he’s also an incredible ambassador for our brand as an ultra-marathon runner for whom endurance and performance training is deeply personal.”

This announcement follows the recent hiring of Dianna Kraus as Peloton’s first-ever Chief Communications Officer, and the hiring of Charles Kirol as Peloton Chief Operating Officer.
